ABOUT US
Fort Wallis Farm is a result of our life-longing for farm living. Farmer Patrick and I married in 1998 and have had our hearts and sights set on the country life since Day 1. Sometimes life happens, and dreams don't. With determined dreaming, we have resolved to use what we do have and bring what farm life we can into our suburban backyard (and front yard too!). We figure the good Lord has seen fit to give us this city life, and if we prove faithful stewards, using our little land to its fullest, then He may entrust us with more one day.
Five spectacular farmhands help manage the daily duties. Fort Wallis is home to 4 delightful daughters and one little cowpoke, who spend their days enjoying a piece of the country life in this big ole city. Everyone helps, everyone is important and we all work together to make things happen. Kids are important here, and we look forward to more- both human and goat kids!
Our goat herd consists of two quality registered Nigerian Dwarf does. Our focus with the goats is producing high quality dairy goats with high milk pail yields, show ring sound and pleasurable pets. Our chicken flock is made up of 4 hens- 2 Plymouth Rocks, and 2 Americaunas. This gives us a combination of brown and blue-ish colored farm-fresh eggs. Our garden is an ever-evolving work-in-progress. Over the years we have grown numerous varieties of fruits, vegetables and herbs. Beekeeping is next on the farm radar.
As a result of various health issues (some major, some minor), we have embarked on a course of continual health improvements. Although modern medicine definitely has its place, we largely manage these health problems through diet, lifestyle improvements, homeopathic medicine and essential oils. Each year we resolve to make a few changes toward optimum healthy living, so that we may be better equipped to do what has been set before us. We have found ourselves gluten-free, corn-free, casein-free (that's cow's milk), and soy-free. Farmer Patrick, having type 1 diabetes, is grain and sugar free as well. Our knowledge and resources with diet, alternative medicine and natural living is ever-increasing. It is our hope that through our farm, Young Living and media sources, we can extend our knowledge and share the gift of health with others.
